Joseph Ori

Joseph Ori
Joseph Ori is the Founding Partner of Lumora Law, a modern corporate and emerging industries law firm serving founders, operators, and high-growth enterprises.
His practice focuses on complex business structuring, regulatory strategy, transactional execution, and risk architecture. Joseph regularly advises companies operating in highly regulated and evolving sectors, including cannabis, consumer brands, hospitality, and emerging technology ventures. He approaches each matter with a dual perspective — combining legal precision with the practical judgment of an experienced operator.
In addition to leading Lumora Law, Joseph is the founder and owner of Ori Law Group, a multi-state litigation firm focused on catastrophic injury and complex civil matters. Over the course of his litigation career, he has personally recovered more than $150 million for injured individuals and their families and has been recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer for eight consecutive years.
His active litigation practice informs his corporate counsel. Joseph structures agreements, operating frameworks, and strategic transactions with a litigator’s discipline — anticipating dispute exposure, enforcement leverage, and risk vectors before they materialize. Clients benefit from counsel who understands not only how deals are built, but how they are tested.
After his honorable discharge from the United States Military Academy at West Point due to a training injury, Joseph attended Columbia University in New York City before returning to Chicago to earn his law degree.
Across his ventures, Joseph approaches leadership with discipline, strategic clarity, and a commitment to building durable institutions.
